Different countertop materials and brands offer different types of surface finishes. Most come standard in a polished, glossy finish that provides a nice shine. Some countertops offer a matte or honed finish that is less reflective. A leathered or satin finish is somewhere between the polished finish and the matte one, it has a more irregluar rustic look.
